Sabantuy is celebrated today in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

Today in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) as part of the Days of Tatarstan, the Tatar national holiday Sabantuy is held, which is held on such a scale for the first time.

The event is attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars Vasil Shaykhraziev and other honored guests.

For residents and guests of Yakutia, 2 holidays will be presented at once: the traditional Yakut summer holiday Ysyakh and the national holiday of the end of spring field work Sabantuy. A truly colorful program that will plunge everyone into the enchanting world of Tatar and Yakut culture.

Elements of the Yakut holiday have similar features with the summer holidays of the Turkic peoples: Tuvans, Altaians, Tatars, Bashkirs, etc. Therefore, Sabantuy and Ysyakh are not accidentally held on the same site.

Our compatriots were pleased with another interesting event. The wife of the head of the Republic of Sakha, Aisen Nikolaev, prepared the Tatar national dish “Kystyby” and treated her husband to it.
