The  V Forum of Muslim Journalists Launched in St. Petersburg

The fifth, anniversary, forum of Muslim journalists and bloggers has begun in St. Petersburg, which is held under the auspices of the Russia-Islamic World strategic vision group.

About 60 delegates take part in the forum’s events: journalists, publishers, political scientists, public figures, and others from Russia and foreign countries. In particular, representatives from Russia, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia and Turkey take part. Also, employees of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan in the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region take part in the Forum.

The main topic of the Forum was “The influence of the media on public opinion and the formation of the international agenda”. In addition, participants will discuss topics such as “Information and psychological wars and their impact on public opinion”, “On freedom of journalism in the context of human rights”, “Fake News: response and opposition strategies”, etc.

Greeting  from  Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, was read out  by Farit Mukhametshin, Deputy Chairman of the Group, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Following the discussion, it is planned to adopt the final document.
