On October 11, an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the production of the first Tatar opera “Sania” opens at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The premiere of the opera “Saniya” on the stage of the Tatar State Drama Theater in Kazan took place on June 25, 1925. The authors of the first Tatar opera are composer Sultan Gabyashi, singer Gaziz Almukhametov and violinist Vasily Vinogradov. The outstanding Tatar writer Fatykh Amirkhan assisted in creating the libretto.

The exhibition will feature unique exhibits from the museum’s funds: personal belongings of prominent figures of Tatar culture, photographs, posters and performance programs.

The exhibition will be open to the public until mid-January 2024.
