On December 16th, in Perm at the City Star Hotel, the 3rd All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Islam in the Kama Region” on the theme: “The role of Islam in preserving spiritual and moral values and ensuring social stability in Russia” will commence.

The event is organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Perm Region with the support of the DUM of the Russian Federation. The conference is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the madrasa at the cathedral mosque of Perm, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, the Year of the Family and the Year of the Muslim Family initiated by the DUM of the Russian Federation. The event is supported by the administrations of the Governor of the Perm Region and the city of Perm.

Muslim religious figures, teachers of general and Islamic educational institutions, participants in the program for training specialists with in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of Islam, representatives of public organizations whose activities are aimed at working with young people, and heads of national NGOs will participate in the conference.

Among the main tasks set by the organizers is to discuss topical issues related to the role of Islam in the Kama region society and Russia as a whole, to study the role of Islamic principles in preserving spirituality and morality, as well as ensuring social harmony and stability. Special attention will be paid to Islamic ethics, family values and social responsibility, which is directly related to the theme of the Year of the Family in Russia.

According to the organizers, in their speeches and discussions, the participants will be able to share their methods in the field of Islamic education, prevention of crisis conditions in children and adolescents, as well as experience in the interaction of state, public and religious institutions in matters of family and child.

The event will be held from December 15–17.
