The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan (DUM RT) has approved the procedure for the celebration of Kurban Bayram and the festive prayer (namaz) in Tatarstan in 2025.
June 5 has been designated as the Day of Arafah, and June 6 as Kurban Bayram (annually observed on the 10th day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah). On this day, festive prayers for Kurban Bayram will be held in all mosques of the republic.
In Kazan, the following schedule has been established for the holiday events:
-
2:00–3:00 – Recitation of the Holy Quran
-
3:00–3:30 – Festive sermon (vaaz)
-
3:30 – Eid prayer (gaet-namaz)
-
3:40 – Khutbah (sermon), Quran recitation, and dua (supplication)
It is recommended that Eid prayers in all mosques begin 30 minutes after sunrise.
After the festive prayer, the rituals of animal sacrifice will begin in specially designated places. The slaughter of sacrificial animals will continue until sunset on June 8. The nisab amount for sacrifice has been set at 53,000 rubles.
June 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are the Days of Takbir al-Tashreeq. On these days (starting from the Fajr prayer on June 5 and ending with the Asr prayer on June 9), after each obligatory (fard) prayer (a total of 23 times), believers recite the Takbir al-Tashreeq:
“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar! La ilaha illallah wa Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar wa lillahil hamd.”
Men recite the takbirs aloud, while women do so quietly.
