This year, the holy month of Ramadan will begin on the evening of February 18, after sunset. Accordingly, the first day of fasting will fall on February 19.
In 2026, believers will observe Uraza for 29 days, with the final day of fasting being March 19. The following day, March 20, Uraza Bayram (Eid al-Fitr) will be celebrated in Tatarstan. In the republic, this day will be a public holiday, allowing believers to fully devote it to acts pleasing to God.
During the observance of Uraza, believers refrain from eating food and drinking water during daylight hours.
In addition, during Ramadan, Muslim men are encouraged to perform the Tarawih prayer in mosques after the night (Isha) prayer. It is also recommended throughout the month to read the Quran, increase devotion to the worship of Allah, and engage in other righteous deeds.
