The working visit of Vasil Shaikhraziev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, to Saudi Arabia continues.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held in Mecca with the leadership of the Organization of Islamic Standards and Metrology (SMIIC). The Secretary General of the organization, Ihsan Öğüt, participated in the negotiations.

The parties discussed issues related to the development of Islamic standards, activities in the field of certification and metrology, as well as prospects for expanding international cooperation. Special attention was paid to the role of Islamic standards in the context of modern global challenges and their significance for Muslim countries.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Republic of Tatarstan actively participates in the work of international Islamic organizations. It was noted that the representation office of the Organization of Islamic Standards and Metrology in Kazan is functioning successfully and contributing to the development of professional dialogue and international cooperation.

Vasil Shaikhraziev and Ihsan Öğüt also discussed opportunities for further cooperation, including the participation of SMIIC representatives in international events held in the Republic of Tatarstan. In particular, the Secretary General of the organization was invited to take part in the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum,” which is traditionally held in Kazan.
