On the eve of Victory Day, a Kazan delegation led by Flyura Abdullina, head of the Tatar Culture Center of the Kazan Cooperative Institute, visited the Kaliningrad region with the support of Alsu Nabiyeva, Rector of the Russian University of Cooperation and a deputy of the State Council of Tatarstan.

The delegation included representatives of educational institutions, labor veterans, and laureates of scientific awards.

The trip participants visited the site where Fatih Karim died, paid tribute to his memory, and laid flowers. The delegation also visited the memorial complex in Bagrationovsk, where the poet is reburied together with his fellow soldiers.

In addition, the representatives from Tatarstan presented a portrait of Fatih Karim to the museum of the cultural center in the village of Vladimirovo, which houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to his life and work. A tour of the museum was held, as well as a meeting with local cultural workers and members of the Tatar diaspora.

The delegation separately visited libraries and cultural institutions in the region where work is underway to preserve the poet’s legacy. Local residents and public figures involved in preserving Karim’s memory received letters of gratitude and commemorative gifts from Tatarstan.

The Tatarstan representatives also met with members of the Tatar community of the Kaliningrad region. According to local organizations, approximately 3,500 Tatars live in the region, actively participating in public and cultural life.
