The acceptance of works for the literary award named after the Tatar classic writer Sharif Kamal for 2022 has begun. The number of prizes this year has been increased.
Applicants can be authors aged 14 to 30 years. The winners will be determined in two age categories, in the nominations “Prose” and “Translation”. The amount of each award is 50 thousand rubles.
In the nomination “Prose” literary works of small and medium prose in the Tatar language are accepted: stories, short stories, novels or in the non-fiction genre.
Participants in the nomination “Translation” are offered to translate Sharif Kamal’s story “Ata” (“Father”) into English, German or Turkish.
Applications and works are accepted by e-mail [email protected] until December 25. The deadlines for admission may be extended by decision of the organizing committee of the award.
The winners will be announced in February 2023 during the Sharif Kamal Decade.
