On 9 March, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that our task is to hold the Russian Presidential Election at the highest level.

He said that the election will be held all over the country from 15 to 17 March next week. “During the election campaign the republic is doing much organizational work, having prepared 2 767 polling stations, including 45 at the temporary residence facilities. All members of the election commissions have passed additional training in requirements of the election legislation,” the Rais of the republic emphasized.

He informed that from 17 February to 7 March members of the local commissions carried out a door-to-door canvassing, having covered 93 per cent of all electorate or 2m 734 thousand people. On top of that there were more than 2 thousand gathering of residents and labour teams in cities and regions of the republic, he said.

The Rais of Tatarstan attracted attention to the fact that the coming week is the most responsible one. “The most important task is to ensure law and order at polling stations and public places, security of polling slips and inventory. Heads of municipalities and representatives of the bodies of the republic must have issues of the polling process under constant control, going out to the assigned cities and regions,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.
