Chulpan unites talents of Volga region

March 15, 2014, City of Yoshkar-Ola will host III International Festival – Competition of children’s amateur art “Chulpan”.

This festival-competition, held earlier at the national level for more than 10 years , but soon outgrew the republican level and in 2010 became an interregional one. From year to year the number of participants from the Volga region is increasing.

The main goals and objectives of the festival -contest:

  • Search and realization of the artistic potential of talented collectives;
  • Instilling love and interest to national, traditional sources, to music and song of Tatar heritage;
  • To draw public attention to the problems of children’s amateur art. The festival is held in the following age categories:
    • – From 7 to 10 years
    • – from 11 to 12 years
    • – from 13 to 14 years
    • – from 15 to 17 years (inclusive).

Festival-Competition is divided into the following areas : – choreography: groups and individual performers perform the two dances. First dance – Tatar dance scene , second – a folk dance of peoples of Russia. Vocals: ensembles and individual performers represent two different genres works: first – Tatar folk song, second is the product of professional Tatar composers. Tools: first – processing of Tatar folk songs, second – professional works by Tatar composers. By the end of the festival-competition, jury will determine the winners in each category, and confers titles of laureates and winners of the festival with presentation of diplomas and prizes . The festival – contest ” Chulpan ” will be attended by children from the Republic of Mari El, Udmurtia , Tatarstan, Chuvashia , Ulyanovsk , Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov regions. Organizers of the festival – contest are State autonomous institution of Culture of the Republic of Mari El, ” Republican center of Tatar culture”, NGO ” Regional National Cultural Autonomy of Mari El Tatars” with grant support from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.
