On February 15, a Majlis in memory of outstanding Tatar figures was held at the Marjani mosque in Kazan. The hazrats read the verses and suras of the Qur’an and dedicated them to such great representatives of the Tatar people as Shigabutdin Marjani, Kayum Nasyiri, Galimdzhan Barudi, Fatykh Karim, Musa Jalil, Ilkham Shakirov.
The Majlis was opened by the imam-khatib of the mosque Mansur khazrat Jalyaletdinov. He recalled the duty to commemorate the dead in prayer. Then the hazrats of the mosque recited the verses and suras of the Qur’an.
The meeting continued with a discussion about the preservation of spiritual and moral values in society, the upbringing of the younger generation.
The members of the Majlis expressed gratitude for holding such religious meetings, stressed that “ash” is a common custom among the Tatars, which needs to be continued and enriched.
