Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov instructed to begin preparations for the 1,100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam. He stated this during the announcement of the annual address  to the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan  of the VI convocation in the State Big Concert Hall named after Salikh Saidashev.

“In 2022, 1100 years have passed since the adoption of religion by the state of the Volga Bulgaria. We need to start preparing events dedicated to this date, ”the President said. He noted the great role of Islam in the development of the Tatar people.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan also reminded that restoration of historical monuments has been completed in Bulgaria and Sviyazhsk. He thanked the Vozrozhdeniye  Foundation, led by Mintimer Shaimiev and all sponsors.
