On April 28, 2024, the V Southern Sabantuy took place in Sochi. Guests from 21 regions of Russia came to the Adler Park of Culture and Recreation.

The welcome letter from the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov was read by the first deputy chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, head of the Executive committee of the WCT Danis Shakirov.

“This year Tatar national holiday Sabantuy started in Sochi. A total of 399 Sabantuys are planned in 62 regions of Russia and 39 foreign countries,” said Shakirov.

During the event, Tatar pop stars performed. Among them were Zainab Fakhretdinova and Zufar Bilalov, Bulat Nigmatullin, Rustam Nasybullin, the folk group “Zakaria”, and groups from Zelenodolsk (Tatarstan). The program included traditional games, national wrestling “Koresh”, and master classes. An exhibition of the museum named after the great Tatar educator Kayum Nasyri was also organized for the guests.
