The Year of National Cultures and Traditions was launched at the final board of the Ministry of Culture of Tatarstan

The final collegium of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan was held on January 31 at KazanExpo. During the collegium, the Year of National Cultures and Traditions in the Republic of Tatarstan was launched.

The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Osintsev, Director of Federal State Institution “Roskulttsentr” Marina Abramova, General Director of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives Roman Karmanov, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, heads of ministries of culture of eight Russian regions, as well as heads of Tatarstan departments and ministries.

The collegium summed up the results of the department’s activities for 2022, noted the results of the participation of the Republic of Tatarstan in federal programs and the implementation of the national project “Culture”.

Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova noted that each resident of the republic attends cultural activities 19 times on average. One of the growth potentials is the inclusion of visits to cultural sites in tourist routes.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov urged to continue work on the implementation of projects with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. Separately, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized the Pushkin Map project. “It turned out to be a great project. It is necessary to further promote it, to interact more actively with the parent community. This is a matter of educating our youth,” he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov recalled that 2023 in Tatarstan was declared as the Year of National Cultures and Traditions, which should become an impetus for popularizing the uniqueness of the national color. “It will always be in demand. We have Udmurt, Mari, Mordovian, Russian, Tatar creative teams. All nationalities must preserve their culture, identity – this is very important,” concluded Rustam Minnikhanov.
