Lilya Vedzhatova: “Today we have all conditions to preserve our language, history, culture and traditions”

On October 24-26, 2023, World Congress of the Tatars, together with Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications “Tatmedia”, is holding the All-Russian Forum of Tatar Journalists.

For the first time, a delegation from the Republic of Crimea headed by the General Director of the Millet TV channel Lilya Vedzhatova is taking part in the forum.

“First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you to the organizers. We are very glad to be here. After the reunification of Crimea with Russia, enormous opportunities opened up for the Crimean Tatars. To date, the Crimean Tatar language is the state language. In kindergartens and schools, children learn their native language. For us, this is an incredible sign of attention.

The construction of the Cathedral Mosque is already at the final stage. The mosque has become a symbol of the unity of the peoples of the Republic.

Since 2015, the Crimean Tatar TV channel “Millet” has been operating. With the help of satellite, we broadcast not only in our Republic, but also in countries such as Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan. Today we have all conditions to preserve our language, history, culture and traditions,” Lilya Vedzhatova said.
