Tatar religious leader dies in Baku

After a long illness at the age of 81, a Tatar religious leader, Mullah Akhmedsha Akmanov, died on October 23 in Baku. Farewell to him took place on October 24. Ahmedsha Akmanov was buried in a cemetery in the village of Puta.

Ahmedsha Akmanov was born on July 27, 1938 in Baku. His parents were from the village of Mazarli in the Neverkinsky district of the Penza region. Over the years, he performed Muslim rituals of naming, performed nikakh, performed janaz prayers, he was invited to read the Qur’an and prayers to various majlises. He enjoyed special honor and respect among the Baku Tatars.

Representatives of the Tatar Diaspora of Azerbaijan express their condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased, and recall him and his activities.
