In his speech at the plenary session of the “Tugan Tel” World Forum, taking place in Kazan at the Korston shopping and entertainment complex, Danis Shakirov, Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars and a deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, familiarized the forum participants with the goals and objectives of the gathering of Tatar language teachers and emphasized the significance of this event.

“At present, an enormous responsibility rests on the shoulders of Tatar language teachers. You are the ones who develop the nation, the leading force of the Tatar people. Tatar language teachers are the guardians of the nation,” he noted.

Danis Shakirov also highlighted issues that concern Tatar language teachers and the Tatar public. “In Tatar schools, instead of teaching subjects in the Tatar language, they are being replaced by a national environment. There is a tendency to equate national education solely with the teaching of the Tatar language. Two or three hours of Tatar language instruction do not make an educational institution a Tatar school,” he said.

Furthermore, the Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars emphasized the importance of joint and coordinated work for the development of national education. He noted that the “Tugan Tel” World Forum was organized precisely for this purpose.
